Second place glory for CSPC Elite Dancers in DOH CamSur’s dance extravaganza

The remarkable artistry of students from Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC), collectively dubbed as CSPC Elite Dancers, was on full display as they secured an impressive second place in the highly anticipated “HATAW NA!: EXPRESS & IMPRESS” Collegiate Dance Competition.

The event, held on June 23, 2023 at Naga City’s Avenue Convention Center, brought together dance groups from CSPC, Bicol State College of Applied Sciences and Technology, the Pili and Calabanga campuses of Central Bicol State University of Agriculture, and Naga College Foundation.

The winning performance of CSPC Elite Dancers, composed of Kamille D. Cerillo, Anthony M. Baynado, Mavie Glyn M. Buena, Don Edwin B. Españo, Jessie I. Espinola, Jungie A. Elcano, Jonalyn C. Filio, Vanessa Dayne L. Luzon, Louise Adriene B. Murillo, and Carlo James P. Luzon, was crafted under the guidance of their head coach, Mr. Rodrigo Salando, Jr., who was assisted by Mr. Bheigel H. Oliver and Mr. John Nazareth.

During the competition proper, they were accompanied by Ms. Bernadette Tañamor, Student Affairs and Services Office staff; and Ms. Brine Joy Abonita, PE Instructor and CSPC Rondalla Coordinator.

As a mark of their accomplishment, they were bestowed with a cash prize of P13,000, a plaque, and a token.

This year’s edition of “HATAW NA!: EXPRESS & IMPRESS” Collegiate Dance Competition was organized in conjunction with the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, a global initiative aimed at fostering a drug-free world. The DOH Camarines Sur Treatment & Rehabilitation Center, known for its active involvement in this advocacy, spearheaded the event.

With the theme “Create. Dance. Live. Expressing talent towards a drug-free lifestyle,” the competition provided a platform for young dancers to showcase their creativity, promote a healthy lifestyle, and raise awareness about the detrimental effects of substance abuse.
