CSPC Dance Troupe takes national center stage, earns honors at NDC 2023

Amidst fierce competition from renowned dance groups, student members of the CSPC Dance Troupe went undaunted and claimed awards at the National Dance Championship (NDC) 2023 held on June 24, 2023, at the Aliw Theater in Pasay City.

In the College Jazz Pair division, Dannielle B. Sasaluya and Sisley Pamela Matubis earned the Silver Award for CSPC. The top prize in this category was secured by the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Salinggawi Dance Troupe, with the University of Cordilleras’ UC Jaguars College Spears clinching the bronze.

Meanwhile, the CSPC Dance Troupe excelled in the College Contemporary Dance division, securing the Silver Award. The team includes Shainna Ibanita, John Joseph L. Mata, Jomari Matubis, Nicole John Montealegre, Andrew Sasaluya, Chimen Seva, Lyn Christian Serdinio, Alvin Vargas, Kyla Vargas, and Jericho Jose Villamer. Other podium finishers are the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe which was hailed champion and the De La Salle Contemporary Dance Company which obtained bronze.

The institution’s delegation received training from Mr. Rodrigo C. Salando Jr. and Mr. Bienghel Oliver, with the guidance of Dr. Jay L. Luzon, Cultural Affairs Director. Mr. John Philip De Lima and Mr. Joshua A. Ibarreta also provided additional assistance.

Organized by the National Cheerleading Championship, Inc., NDC showcases the finest dance units from schools across the country and provides a platform for athletes, dancers, and teams to exhibit their skills and artistry at the highest level.
