๐—•๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—น ๐— ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ฎ ๐—ฆ๐˜‚๐—บ๐—บ๐—ถ๐˜ ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฏ kicks off in Naga City

The Bicol Media Summit 2023, organized by The Cheron Multi-Media Production, took place on June 3, 2023, at The Tent, Avenue Hotel, Magsaysay Avenue, Naga City. With the theme “Public Servants and Social Media: Role in Society: A Post-Pandemic Review,” the event brought together a diverse group of attendees.

Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC) was well-represented with 28 student participants from the AB English Language Studies and BS Development Communication programs, along with five faculty members. The summit attracted various stakeholders, including the Bicol Press Club, the Philippine Information Agency – Camarines Sur Provincial Office, the Philippine National Police (PNP) Bicol Region Office, and educators and students from state colleges and universities across the Bicol Region.

The event featured insightful presentations, beginning with Mr. Arjanmar Rebeta, National Film Director, who shared his expertise on “Mobile Filming as a Tool for Social Media Content Creation.” This was followed by Ms. Elaine Sister L. Apit, Radio Anchor of DZRH Manila, who conducted an engaging session on “Journalism in the Age of Social Media.”

Mr. Anthony “Tunying” Taberna, Radyo Anchor of the Dos por Dos Program on DZRH Manila, delivered an inspiring message to the attendees. The summit also saw the participation of Senator Francis Tolentino, Chairman of the Committee on Justice and Human Rights, who served as the inducting officer for the Bicol Press Club Regional Advisory Board. Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go officiated as the inducting officer for the Bicol Press Club Officers.

Dr. Charlito Cadag, the College president, was also in attendance and took an oath as a member of the Bicol Press Club Advisory Board.

The Bicol Media Summit 2023 was a significant event that provided media practitioners and students with valuable insights into challenging the status quo and harnessing journalism and social media to effect positive societal change.
