Graduate School holds webinar for Research Culture of Excellence

The Graduate School of the Camarines Sur Polytechnic conducted a seminar focused on enhancing research capabilities and promoting a culture of excellence in research for both graduate students and graduating undergraduates of the College via Zoom and Facebook Live on December 18, 2021.


The 1-day online seminar titled “Webinar on New Initiatives and Nurturing a Research Culture in the New Normal’’ aimed to cultivate the participant’s writing skills, research ethics, information organization skills, and source validation skills.


Topics covered included “Policies, Standards and Guidelines for Graduate Programs” per CHED Memorandum Order No. 15, series of 2019 by GS Dean Dr. Jocelyn O. Jintalan; “Preparation, Preorals and Final Defense, and Best Practices in Research Paper Writing” by CAS Dean Dr. April Z. Luzon; “Publication of Research Outputs in Refereed and Indexed Journals” by CRD Director Jan Harold R. Terrano; “Research Ethics and How to Avoid Plagiarism” by Prof. Presebel B. Presto of CBSUA; and, “Intellectual Property Rights’’ by Engr. Leo Agustin P. Vela of Camarines Norte State College IPRPU.


Certificates of appreciation and tokens were given to the resource speakers for their lectures on cultivating a culture of excellence in research. The video of the webinar is now publicly available for interested parties via the CSPC Graduate School Facebook page.
