The Guidance Center conducted online facilitative counselling sessions for freshmen and upperclassmen from October to December 2021 to orient students on the programs and services as offered by the office.
With the theme “CSPC Cares: Quality Education for all during COVID-19 Crisis” the counselling sessions were in response to the problems of students perceived by the office as difficulties such as understanding lectures, failures in examinations, poor academic standards, among others. The office also asserted that the activity is necessary to assess the student’s well-being and needs, which come through the administration of tests and also a get-together for the participants.
Freshmen were given a schedule priority with Zoom sessions on October 4 to 6, 2021, with sophomores scheduled November 1 to 12, 2021, third year students had their sessions on November 17 to 19, 2021, and 4th year student sessions on December 1 to 3, 2021.
Guidance Center personnel were given assignments for the facilitative counseling for each college with Mr. Ramon T. Arabe, Jr. for the College of Engineering; Mr. Leo Francis Barbonio for the College of Computer Studies; Dr. Gemma S. Clet for the College of Business Management; Ms. Dianna H. Cortezano for the College Business Management; Ms. Leny O. Figuracion for the College of Health Sciences; Ms. Eva C. Sasuluya for the College of Arts and Sciences and College of Technological and Developmental Education; and, Ms. Ma. Kiara Sapinoso for the College of Business Management.
Fund sources for the activity came from the Guidance Center budget which totaled Php72,000.00, covering expenses for 12 days of meals and snacks.
