Mari na, mga padaba!: Student council to host musical fundraiser featuring dwta, CSPC talents

The entire community of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC) is in for a treat as the Supreme Student Council (SSC) presents ULAYAW 2024: Post-Valentine Music Fest, scheduled for February 24th, 2024, at the CSPC Open Grounds.

Headlining the event is Bicolana singer-songwriter Jhasmine Villanueva, popularly known as dwta. The Tiwi, Albay-native made waves with her hits “Santigwar” and “Padaba Taka” which was named Best Regional Recording in the 2023 Awit Awards.

She will be joined by online personality PASO and CSPC talents including Andrei Magno, Rozy Dy, the Alliance of Musically Passionate Students, and the CSPC Dance Troupe.

However, the music extravaganza not only promises entertainment but also serves a noble cause.

ULAYAW 2024 aims to raise funds for “Kinaadman: A Project Redeem for Indigenous People (IP),” an initiative focused on improving the educational opportunities and well-being of Agta-Tabangnon children in Sitio Pandan, Cabatuan of Buhi, Camarines Sur.

Launched in December 2023, “Kinaadman” aims to equip 6 to 12-year-old IPs with fundamental skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic. The project also emphasizes hygiene education and aims to improve overall sanitation standards within the community. This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education) and 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation).

Ticket sales for ULAYAW 2024 are ongoing at the GAD Student Lounge until February 23, 2024. General admission tickets are priced at 60 pesos, while VIP tickets are available for 150 pesos.
