The Rinconada Center for Environmental Sustainability (RICES) serves as a catalyst for sustainable development and environmental innovation tailored to the pressing challenges of the Rinconada area in Camarines Sur. The office aims to provide a comprehensive and interdisciplinary research approach aligned with CSPCโs commitment to social-responsive research initiatives.
The office shall perform the following functions:
a) Conduct interdisciplinary research projects that generate solutions to environmental and sustainability challenges in Rinconada;
b) Collaborate with local, national, and international institutions and stakeholders; 3. educate employees, students, and community on the importance of environmental sustainability;
c) Organize community outreach and extension programs that promote sustainable practices and awareness;
d) Secure research funding and institutional support to sustain long-term initiatives in environmental sustainability;
e) Propose and implement policies, programs, projects, and activities that promote environmental sustainability practices within the institution to enhance institutionโs adaptive capacity and resilience to climate change; and
f) Monitor and evaluate the impact of RiCESโ research, programs and activities on community well-being and environmental outcomes.
