Research Ethics Board

The Research Ethics Board is the sole authority of the Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges in reviewing, checking, and certifying a research protocol (proposal and terminal report) of its adherence to the national and international ethical guidelines. Moreover, it is the only Center in the college responsible for issuing certifications needed for implementing research projects and for research publication. It also ensures that all research adheres to the “good research practice”. The board shall be accredited by the Philippine Health Research Ethics Board (PHREB) and shall undergo constant monitoring and evaluation by the said accrediting agency. The REB is headed by the Chair who approves all certifications pertaining to protocol reviews.

The CSPC-REB reviews, suggest improvements, or approves submitted research protocols based on ethical norms and principles. The CSPC-REB was established to ensure that the institution’s research projects comply with the highest ethical standards and ideals. The review of research applies to all disciplines within the institution that involve human participants and data. Despite being part of the VPRIC, the office has autonomy when it comes to reviewing protocols of all undergraduate students, graduate students, non-teaching/administrative personnel, academic personnel, faculty researchers, external researchers and interested parties.
