The AI Research Center for Community Development (AIRCoDe) is a premier research hub of CSPC intended for research studies implementing Artificial Intelligence Technology. The establishment of AIRCoDe is funded by the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) under the Infrastructure Development Program in 2021. Aligned with the research thrust of the Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, it shall promote and explore scholarly works responsive to the needs of the community using Artificial Intelligence. The main objective is to alleviate community based problems, particularly in consonance with the following research programs: Disaster Risk Management, Agricultural Management, Community Development, Capacity Building, and Data-Driven Policy Development.

The office shall perform the following functions:

a) AIRCoDe shall explore Al applications to enhance community resilience, provide avenues for new discoveries and strengthen the research capabilities in Al research.

b) Alleviate community-based problems, particularly in consonance with the following research programs: Disaster Risk Management, Agricultural Management, Community Development, Environmental Issues, Capacity Building, and Data-Driven Policy Development.

c) Responsible for all areas of the center’s research strategy, including external relationship management and strategic functions through competitive grant submissions, publications, and attracting research prospects to the research center to grow and strengthen its research profile, performance, and reputation. More specifically, it shall: maintain a functioning approved management and governance structure; ensure that the center meets the terms of its responsibilities, including adherence to institutional, and professional policies, procedures and regulations, including, but not limited to recovery of overhead and indirect costs on research contracts, ethics, and risk assessment; produce an annual program of work for the forthcoming year and an annual report at the end of each year; and, report on the activities of the center to the College.
