Camarines Sur Polytechnic CollegesβExtension and Community Services Office (CSPC-ECSO), in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Buhi, formally opened the LICHA-HABI β Livelihood Innovation and Creative Habi Advancement for Better Industries (Enhancement Program for Trainerβs Training) at Magindara, Buhi, Camarines Sur.
The opening program brought together CSPC and LGU Buhi, present during the opening is Executive Assistant III Mr. Franz Kiven E. Astibe, representing SUC President III Dr. Amado A. Oliva, Jr.; Dr. Eden Q. Paniterce; ECSO staff; and Hon. Councilor Maichael Angelo V. Lacoste, representing Hon. Mayor Rey P. Lacoste and the LGU Buhi.
Adding significance to the occasion was the participation of the distinguished weaving trainers from Ifugao, headed by Mr. Marlon M. Martin, Chief Operating Officer of the Save the Ifugao Terraces Movement (SITMO). Their presence marks an important exchange of knowledge, skills, and cultural practices as local weavers are introduced to enhanced techniques and innovative approaches to weaving and livelihood development.
A week-long training, LICHA-HABI seeks to strengthen the capacities of local weavers while promoting innovation, inclusivity, cultural preservation, and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
More than enhancing skills, the initiative aims to weave stronger partnerships between communities and institutionsβturning tradition into opportunities for growth and empowerment.
