The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC), in collaboration with the League of Elite Math Enthusiasts (LEMEN) and Tapayas National High School (TNHS), successfully conducted a two-day extension activity titled โAdvancing Knowledge Through Hypothesis Testingโ at Tapayas National High School on October 14-15, 2025.
The initiative aimed to enhance the statistical literacy and research capabilities of teachers and students by deepening their understanding of inferential statistics, hypothesis testing, and the proper application of statistical tools in academic research.
The Opening Program included a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing between TNHS and CASโCSPC, signifying their shared commitment to promoting research-driven education.
Opening remarks were delivered by Grayzon L. Gonzales, followed by a statement of purpose from Mr. Rowel S. Ramos.
The first day featured sessions on Introduction to Inferential Statistics and Hypothesis Testing Overview by Mr. Rowel S. Ramos, and Test Statistics and Their Selection by Mr. Francis Gerard Magtibay.
On the second day, CAS faculty members continued the training with advanced discussions on the F-Test by Mr. Mark Ronel R. Ocbian, the Chi-Square Test by Mr. Jiel Mark Jagmis, and Spearmanโs Rank Correlation Coefficient by Mr. Romer F. Beltran Yu.
The event concluded with an Open Forum and Closing Program, providing participants with an opportunity to raise inquiries and share insights from the sessions.
Through this initiative, CSPCโCAS continues to uphold its commitment to community empowerment and academic development by equipping educators and learners with essential statistical tools for data analysis, research, and evidence-based decision-making.
