The Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-Bicol successfully conducted an Alignment Meeting with SUCs to promote the TECHGROW Project: “Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship Collaboration and Harmonization of Growing Regional Opportunities on Wealth Creation.” on January 22, 2025.
The meeting was led by Josie Albao, Provincial Director at DOST- Masbate Provincial Science and Technology Office, Engr. Leo Agustin P. Vela, Supervising Science Research Specialist through Zoom Meeting and attended by Engr. Noli M. Esperas Jr., TECHGROW Project Staff
Meanwhile, key officials from CSPC were also present during the meeting, including Dr. Amado A. Oliva Jr., CSPC President; Dr. Harold Jan R. Terano, Director of the Research and Development Services Office; Ms. Cherry Lyn M. Odsinada, Director of the Bicol Consortium for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (BCIEERD) Inc.; Dr. Yolanda A. Santorcas, Project Leader of Raise Program Phase 2; and Mr. Kevin B. Capoles, Head of the Intellectual Property Management Division.
Furthermore, discussions focused on pivotal initiatives, including supporting the issuance of Fairness Opinion Reports (FOR) and advancing technology transfer and commercialization across the region. Participating institutions were tasked with preparing key documents on intellectual property, generated technologies, and pools of experts to align with KRA 2 Research Capability and Output, emphasizing the commercialization of patented inventions developed within the past three years.
This milestone event highlighted the collective effort to foster innovation, collaboration, and regional growth.
