Through one of the innumerable ways to the realization of empowering our youths, the Center for Gender and Development in collaboration with Supreme Student Council, The Mayari Project & Local Government Unit of Balatan presents the BABAE-KAsarinlan: United for Womenโs Rights and Independence. To which it aims to empower Sangguniang Kabataan, Sangguniang Barangay, and Barangay Council to champion gender equality in their communities through innovative project proposals and GAD talks. This activity aims to equip youth leaders with the skills and support to develop projects that address gender disparities across various sectors. Through workshops and mentorship, participants design initiatives promoting equity, empowerment, and social inclusion. BABAE KA-sarinlan fosters collaboration and knowledge-sharing among councils, amplifying the impact of gender-inclusive development efforts.
This meaningful discussion was participated by the Local Government Unit of Balatan and youths from Balatan on July 30, 2024 at the College Auditorium. Parts of the discussion were the inspirational message from the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Estelito R. Clemente and welcome remarks from the Director of Center for Gender and Development, Associate Professor Naneth O. Oida who also deliberately discussed the topics in Basic GAD Concepts and SOGIESC for the closing message given by the GAD Secretariat, Shanelle Jan M. Escuro with her the topic Gender-Responsive Proposal Making.
