2024 Mathematical Society of the Philippines (MSP) Annual Convention held from May 30 to June 2, 2024, at UP Tacloban College
Three faculty members from Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC)โMr. Romer Beltran-Yu, Mr. Francis Gerard Magtibay, and Mr. Mark Ronel Ocbianโattended the 2024 Mathematical Society of the Philippines (MSP) Annual Convention held from May 30 to June 2, 2024, at UP Tacloban College.
The four-day event featured plenary talks, workshops, and parallel sessions on various topics such as applied mathematics, graph theory, combinatorics, and mathematics education. Notable speakers included Dr. Padmanabhan Seshaiyer from George Mason University, who discussed innovative approaches to mathematics education, and Dr. Rhoda Namoco from the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines, who shared insights on multicriteria decision methods.
The convention provided a platform for academic networking, collaboration, and the sharing of research innovations. CSPC delegates actively participated in sessions relevant to their fields, with Mr. Beltran-Yu and Mr. Ocbian attending mathematics education sessions, while Mr. Magtibay focused on graph theory and combinatorics.
The event concluded with awarding ceremonies and discussions on MSP regional chapters, with plans for establishing a Bicol chapter highlighted during the business meeting.
