As part of its steadfast efforts in pursuing internationalization and in support of multilateral relations in the Philippines and in the ASEAN Region, CSPC has taken a significant step in joining the Passage to ASEAN (P2A) – Philippine Chapter. P2A is an ASEAN-recognized organization composed of universities and colleges across the Region with the mission of fostering cross-border mobility, interdisciplinary learning, workforce development, and research-driven innovation to empower the youth and serve the ASEAN community through GloCal engagement and a variety of innovative programs.

For its initial engagement, CSPC was represented by A/Prof. Filmor J. Murillo, Head of the Center for International Relations and Linkages, during the conduct of P2A Philippinesโ€™ First Quarter Assembly on February 12, 2026 hosted by Rizal Technological University (RTU).

The assembly brought together members and partners of the organization to highlights milestones and planned for the year ahead, under the guidance of P2A Advisor and Chairperson of ASEAN AI Council, Dr.Ethel Agnes P. Valenzuela and Dr. Amado L. Magsino, P2A Director for Planning and Advancement. The event was also attended by RTU President, Dr. Eugenia M. Yangco.

One of the highlights of the assembly was the election of P2A Philippinesโ€™ new set of officers where A/Prof. Murillo was elected as the Chapterโ€™s Treasurer while A/Prof. Donato Z. Estocada, RTUโ€™s

Director of the International Affairs and Linkages Office, was elected as President. The new set of officers was sworn in by Dr. Valenzuela.

P2A is officially recognized as one of the entities associated with ASEAN, particularly under โ€œThink Tank and Academic Institutionsโ€ (Annex 2) in the ASEAN Charter.
