Mr. Bryan Deo A. Tataro, core faculty member of the CSPC-College of Health Sciences, was invited as a keynote speaker at the 7th International Conference on Traditional Medicine (ICTM-2026), hosted at the SMBT Campus, Nandihills, Nashik, India. The prestigious event was organized by the SMBT Sevabhavi Trust’s SMBT College of Pharmacy and SMBT Institute of D. Pharmacy.
With the theme “Integrative Science of Traditional Medicine: AI, Omics and Translational Research,” ICTM-2026 gathered academicians, researchers, health practitioners, and industry experts from around the world to explore advancements and emerging perspectives in traditional and integrative medicine.
Mr. Tataro delivered a keynote lecture titled “Bridging Traditions and Science: The Role of Philippine Traditional Medicine in Modern Clinical Practice,” where he highlighted the cultural foundations of Philippine traditional healing, the importance of scientific validation, and the potential integration of indigenous systems into evidence- based healthcare. His discussion emphasized translational research and the value of harmonizing traditional knowledge with modern clinical applications.
The session was well received by the international audience and facilitated meaningful discussions on the global relevance of traditional medicine, cross-cultural knowledge exchange, and future research collaborations. The session was moderated by Dr. Sarika Kamble, Associate Professor from the Department of Pharmacology, and Ms. Pratiksha Pawar, Assistant Professor from the Department of Pharmacognosy, SMBT College of Pharmacy.
Mr. Tataro’s participation not only demonstrated his academic expertise but also strengthened international linkages between CSPC and Indian institutions. His contribution underscored the importance of advancing traditional medicine through scientific inquiry, innovation, and global cooperation.
