Several BSTM faculty members successfully conducts Community Extension Activity on Basic Community Tour Guiding

The Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) program of CSPC successfully held its community extension activity, “Basic Community Tour Guiding”, on October 23-24, 2025, at Megay Beach Resort, Itangon, Bula, Camarines Sur, in partnership with the Municipal Tourism, Culture, and Arts Office of Bula.

The two-day workshop aimed to equip participants with essential knowledge and skills in community-based tour guiding while promoting sustainable and responsible tourism practices. Sessions highlighted the importance of local culture and heritage appreciation, effective communication and storytelling, and genuine hospitality-core competencies of a competent and communityย  centered tour guide.

Participants engaged in interactive discussions and hands-on activities that strengthened their understanding of the role of tourism in community development. The initiative also emphasized the value of empowering residents as stewards of their cultural and natural resources.
