Senior High School students at Nabua National High School (NNHS) took part in a legal awareness seminar titled โKnow Your Rights: A Legal Primer on Addressing Sexual Misconduct in Academic Institutionsโ on October 13, 2025, organized by the College of Arts and Sciences of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC).

Held at the NNHS Cong. Salvio Fortuno Civic Center, the seminar aimed to educate students on their legal rights and responsibilities in preventing and addressing sexual misconduct within academic environments.
The program opened with welcoming remarks from Mr. Jeffrey Albania, Assistant SHS Principal for Academics, followed by Mr. Al Lexus Arevalo, seminar proponent, who emphasized the importance of legal literacy in building safe and respectful learning spaces.
Faculty members from the Bachelor of Public Administration program served as resource speakers. Mr. Renato A. Adriano III discussed the Safe Spaces Act (RA 11313), offering guidance on recognizing and responding to acts of harassment. Atty. Freddie R. Collada followed with a discussion on the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act (RA 9262), focusing on victim protection and legal remedies.
Mr. Charles Bolival shared practical approaches to supporting victims and fostering accountability in schools, while Mr. Peter Turiano concluded the session with a discussion on the Anti-Sexual Harassment Law, highlighting preventive strategies and institutional responsibilities.
An open forum allowed students to express their thoughts, ask questions, and clarify issues surrounding harassment, rights, and reporting mechanisms. The dialogue reflected studentsโ growing awareness and empowerment in asserting their rights.
The event concluded with the awarding of certificates of participation and appreciation to attendees and speakers, followed by closing remarks from Mr. Romer Beltran Yu, who commended the participantsโ active involvement and reaffirmed the collective duty to uphold respect, safety, and legal consciousness in schools.
Overall, the seminar underscored CSPCโs unwavering commitment to advancing student welfare, promoting legal literacy, and fostering inclusive and ethical learning environments across its partner institutions.
