BKTK Program Rolls Out Nationwide with CSPC Among Partner Institutions

The Bayan Ko, Titser Ko (BKTK) Program, #AngatBuhay’s flagship literacy initiative, is now expanding its reach to more communities across the Philippines in response to the growing learning crisis.

Central to the program’s implementation is the Training of Trainers, facilitated by volunteer educators from the University of the Philippines College of Education in collaboration with organizations from the Angat Bayanihan Volunteer Network nationwide. This training equips volunteer tutors with the knowledge and skills to support struggling readers, while also orienting them on the proper use of the BKTK assessment and instructional kits developed by the University of the Philippines Center for Integrative and Development Studies – Education Research Program (UP CIDS-ERP).

Among the partner institutions for this nationwide rollout is the Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC), through its College of Technological and Developmental Education (CTDE), with Dr. Marivel F. Paycana serving as the Adviser of the Association of Reading and Literacy Advocates. As part of its extension program at Barangay Sto. Domingo, where the Community Learning Hub is located, CSPC has mobilized volunteer tutors to actively participate in the BKTK initiative, reinforcing the collective mission of addressing foundational literacy gaps at the community level.

This expansion would not be possible without the unwavering commitment of implementing organizations, partner Higher Education Institutions, program developers, and various stakeholders who continue to champion inclusive and quality education for all.

Together, through the BKTK Program, communities and partner institutions are working hand in hand to nurture a culture of reading and empower the next generation of Filipino learners.
