Twenty-two Bachelor of Science in Development Communication (BS DevCom) students from Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges have officially begun their internships in various national government offices in Quezon City.
The deployment includes placements at major communication and public service institutions: the Peopleโs Television Network (PTV), the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), and the National Electrification Administration (NEA).
These agencies offer students a strategic platform to immerse themselves in the fields of public information, government broadcasting, and developmental advocacy.
Mrs. Gigi Severo, Program Chair of BS DevCom, and Dr. Marlon S. Pontillas, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, accompanied the interns during the deployment.
Their presence underscored the collegeโs strong commitment to ensuring meaningful learning experiences and close academic-industry partnerships.
Each student is required to complete a minimum of 200 internship hours, during which they will take on roles related to media production, content creation, research, and public information disseminationโcore components of development communication practice.
This initiative is part of CSPCโs ongoing efforts to provide students with real-world training in communication for development and governance, preparing them to become future public information officers, media professionals, and community advocates.
