SPARK-COIL Conference

The Head of the Center for International Relations and Linkages (CIRL) of CSPC attended the SPARK-COIL Conference on February 21, 2025, at Escaler Hall, Ateneo de Manila University in Quezon City.

Assoc. Prof. Filmor J. Murillo joined participants from the Project SPARK-COIL consortium and other delegates from various SUCs and private HEIs as they listened to presentations and interacted in workshops that focused on the conferenceโ€™s theme: “Strengthen and Promote Academic Agility, Resilience, and Knowledge Exchange through Collaborative Online International Learning.โ€

The one-day conference featured speaker-facilitators including Asst. Prof. Javier Molina of the Department of Innovation and Didactic Training (DIFD) of the Faculty of Education, University of Alicante, Spain; Prof. Karol Kujawa of Akademic WSP, Poland; Dr. Sabina Ratjczak, Vice Rector for Development and Director of the Center for Quality and Innovation of Akademia WSB, Poland; and Dr. Pawel Urgacz, Deputy Dean for Internationalization of Akademia WSB, Poland.

The SPARK-COIL Conference is an Erasmus+ project spearheaded by the Ateneo de Manila University that highlights a unique COIL pilot program, the first of its kind in Southeast Asia. It aims to address persisting gaps in the implementation of COIL programs within Philippine Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).

COIL stands for Collaborative Online International Learning. CSPC, through the CIRL, has been organizing COIL projects with partners from Ukraine, India, Indonesia, and the USA since 2021.
