This college, in partnership with the Center for Extension and Community Services and the Sangguniang Kabataan of Bato, Camarines Sur, hosted PAGTUKDO: A 3-day Teaching Enhancement Program with Demonstration Teaching on Literacy and Numeracy from August 1 to 5, 2024, at the CSPC Graduate School Hall, Nabua Campus.
The program began on Day 1 with Dr. Patrick Gerard A. Paulino, CTDE Dean, discussing “Teaching as a Profession, Mission, and Vocation; The Teacher as a Lifelong Learner Embracing Growth and Excellence.” Benedict V. Baluyot, MAED Instructor 1, followed with a session on “Facilitating Learner-Centered Classrooms and Fostering Strategies for Learners’ Motivation and Engagement.” Mr. Bryan B. Amaranto then covered “Inclusive Teaching Strategies and Integrating Technological Tools in the Classroom,” and Rowel S. Ramos, MAED, presented on “Unlocking the Secret Weapon of Success: Building Literacy & Numeracy Across the Curriculum, with Emphasis on Remediation Strategies for Numeracy.”
Day 2 featured Juliana Marie D. Bolivar, Former CTDE-CSC Governor, discussing “Teaching Literacy to Young Learners,” and Dr. Marivel F. Paycana, the proponent of the activity, addressing “Remediation Strategies for Literacy & Reading Comprehension.” Mr. Dennis S. Rañon and Mr. Alvin B. Badong concluded with a session on “Lesson Planning, Lesson Delivery, and Assessment.”
The volunteers from Masoli and Goyudan, Bato, were actively engaged in preparing lesson plans and instructional materials for demonstration teaching. The program concluded with acknowledgements from Hon. Mary Rose S. Vargas, SK Chairperson of Brgy. Masoli, Bato, and Hon. Kathleen Tess I. Hugo, SK Chairperson of Brgy. Goyudan, Bato, Camarines Sur.
This activity showcased a strong commitment to educational excellence, especially in empowering our volunteer teachers.
