The Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics programs of the College of Arts and Sciences, in partnership with the Center for Extension and Community Services, and League of Elite Math Enthusiasts (LEMEN), conducted an online training on data analysis titled DABEST 2.0! Data Analysis through Basic and Engaging Statistics Training, earlier today, May 07, 2024, via Google Meet, for the Senior High School learners of Sta. Justina National High School.
It was formally opened by Dr. Marlon S. Pontillas, the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, through welcome remarks.
Ms. Liezl B. Namoro started the formal session as she discussed the introductory topics and basic concepts in Statistics.
It was followed by Ms. Eirene S. Neonal, who discussed and demonstrated how to create charts and graphs using Microsoft Excel. Mr. Romer F. Beltran-Yu proceeded with the discussion of measures of central tendency. Ms. Juvy Fordan gave her presentation on the topic of measures of dispersion.
An open forum was also done to entertain the studentsโ queries about the topics discussed. Some icebreaker questions regarding the discussions were also given with corresponding prizes for the learner-participants.
