In line with this the Philippine Association for Teachers and Educators (PAFTE) Vin coordination with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has conducted the 2024 Regional Educators Congress on March 22, 2024 with the theme “Enhancing Research Competitiveness in Education in the Digital Era”, at Alicia Hotel, Legazpi City, Albay. The convention aims to awaken and nurture the research competitiveness level of teacher education students and faculty as an effective means of innovating the quality of instruction and learning.
The congress brought together educators, researchers, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to discuss the evolving landscape of research in education amidst digital transformation. Among the key themes discussed were Technology Integration in Education, Open Access and Collaboration, Data Analytics and Al in Educational Research, Capacity Building and Professional Development. Dr. Elmer De Leon, the PAFTER National Vice-President highlighted in his keynote address the need for digital revolution and research management innovation to strengthen further the culture of research and innovative practices in learning institutions. Dr. Filomena T. Dayagbil of Cebu Normal University gave an inspiring talk on research and artificial intelligence in the pursuit of academic writing for publication. In the afternoon, Dr. Margarita F Fajardo of Ateneo de Naga University shared various research-based educational practices, innovations and practices. In response to the challenge and theme of the academic colloquium, five faculty researchers from varied schools presented their papers. The program ended with the closing remarks of Dr. Arly B. Balingbing, the PAFTE V Vice-President.
The Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC), a renowned institution in the provision of quality polytechnic education in the Bicol region, sent faculty members from the College of Technological and Developmental Education namely Ms. April Mae Bantog, Ms. Edelyn Nales, Dr. Niรฑa Sibulo, Mr. Benedic Baluyot, Mr. Romeo B. Sotto, Mr. Donn Raymond Bermundo, and Mr. Juniser A. Oliva to attend the congress. Moreover, Dr. Arly Balingbing and Mr. Bryan Amaranto also attended as officers of the organization.
