Guidance Center spearheads seminar for ‘Smooth Interpersonal Relationship’

The Guidance Office of the Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, in response to the need for mental health and socio-emotional wellness of its students, conducted a two-day seminar to help guidance counselors and carers with their psycho-spirituality. The seminar was held at Gamboa’s Orchard in Malilipot, Albay on October 7 and 8, 2021.

Titled “Caring for the Carers – Smooth interpersonal Relationships” the seminar focused on guiding the guidance counselors in their self-care routines, self-realization, and art expression. Sessions included a ‘Session on Self-Care Plan’ with Dr. Gemma Clet, ‘Session on Others: Revisiting Oneself Through Others’ with Mr. Ramon Arabe, Jr., ‘Session on Catharsis: Expressing Self Through Art’ with Ms. Ma. Kiara Sapinoso and Ms. Rossel B. Sanchez.

A synthesis was facilitated by Mr. Leo Francis Barbonio at the end of each seminar day. The
sessions were expected to impact the guidance personnel through, according to its organizers,
“the creation of a more sensitive yet compassionate working environment among the personnel”.

The seminar, whose fund source comes from the Guidance Center budget, cost Php47,501.09 which
included expenses for the venue, meals for 2 days, cottage accommodations, and honorarium for
speakers, among others.
