REPED meets with CamSur Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Key officials of the Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, through its Research, Extension, Production, and Entrepreneurial Development cluster in support of the Innovation, Science, and Technology Accelerating Regional Technology-Based Development (DOST-iSTART) program, met with key persons of the Camarines Sur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CSCCI) in a focus group discussion to discuss potential business opportunities in Pasacao and to assess future collaborations of the DOST program with the said organization on November 9, 2021 via Google Meet.


Rinconada Business Incubation Center and Enterprise Development (RBICED) In-Charge and iSTART Focal Person Mr. Kristopher T. Visaya presided over the meeting with the VP for REPED Dr. Teresita B. Salazar, Ms. Cherry Lyn Odsinada, Ms. Audrey Millicent S. Hugo; and with CSCCI representatives Ms. Maria Soledad V. Magtuto, Mr. Kristian Carl Malazarte, Mr. Hoover Picar, Ms. Maricel Ann Brioso, Ms. Aida Estonido, and Ms. Maria Isabel L. Concepcion.


The focus group discussion agenda included the introduction of the iSTART to the CSCCI and to call upon the support of the said business organization on future endeavors of the DOST program. According to CSCCI representatives, the organization provides support on programs which benefit a wide array of businesses in Camarines Sur. This, according to CSCCI reps, is shown by their initiated activities such as CamSur Construct, Health and Wellness Expo, Agri Summit, and CamSur Business Expo whose main objective is to invite business experts to give talks on their fields of expertise. Also CSCCI mentioned that they have been collaborating with the Department of Trade and Industry and DOST in the said endeavors.


Other important matters discussed were the potential business opportunities in Pasacao due to its resources and location and that the municipality has already raised its own innovative programs for women and other marginalized sectors. Also, representatives of the business organization disclosed to the focus group that they already have nominated Pasacao as the friendliest LGU in Bicol.
