CHED visits CSPC anew for its conversion into a university

The Commission on Higher Education – Regional Office V (CHED-ROV) conducted an on-site evaluation to Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC) relative to its conversion into Polytechnic State University of Bicol on April 13, 2021 at the CSPC Pearl Function Hall.

CHED-ROV visited the College for document analysis, evaluation, interviews, and ocular inspection of facilities and learning resources.

Dr. Ma. Teresa G. De Alban, CHED-ROV Chief Education Program Specialist, presented CHED Administrative Order No. 1 s. 2021 or the Guidelines on the Gradual Reopening of Campuses of Higher Education Institutions for Limited Face-to-Face Classes during COVID – 19 Pandemic and gave updates on the CMO 46, s. 2012 regarding the Guidelines for Conversion of a College to a University.

Dr. De Alban also heads the CHED Regional Quality Assurance Team.

In his message, Dr. Charlito P. Cadag, CSPC President, shared his optimism despite the challenges brought about by the re-evaluation.

“The task is utterly daunting but the sense of achievement and fulfillment that results from hard work far outweighs all our efforts and sacrifices.  Simply put, our dream for universityhood is not a one-shot deal but an institutional and collective decision to maintain high standards of performance, proving once and for all that the most difficult task is also the most rewarding,” he said.

It can be recalled that on April 12, 2019, President Rodrigo Duterte signed RA 11283 which converts CSPC into a state university.
