CSPC undergoes CHED evaluation

Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC) undergone an On-site Evaluation on its conversion to Polytechnic State University of Bicol (PSUB) by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED)-Region V last November 27, 2020, at 9:00 am at the College Boardroom. The journey to universityhood can be traced back when HB No. 5119 converting CSPC to PSUB that was filed by Hon. Salvador B. Belaro, Jr. of 1-EDUKASYON Partylist as the principal sponsor, and 5th District of Camarines Sur representative, Hon. Salvio B. Fortuno as co-sponsor. It was then signed into law on April 12, 2019 by virtue of RA 11283. It was July 11-13, 2018 when CSPC first underwent an evaluation from CHED- Central office and Committee on Higher and Technical Education (CHTE) of the House of Representatives. This was followed by another visit last August 12, 2020, by CHED Technical Working Group headed by Dr. Maria Teresa G. De Alban, Chief zeducation Program Specialist, when they reevaluated CSPC’s compliance to universityhood based on CMO No. 46 s. 2012.

Unfortunately, CSPC was found to be non-compliant to several provisions or areas such as the offering of Three (3) Graduate Programs, Research undertakings, faculty with Master’s degrees, and external linkages. However, the Library and Laboratory Resources were compliant. Meanwhile, CSPC under the leadership of Dr. Charlito P. Cadag, the College President together with the powerhouse team of CSPC ensure our university compliance by expanding its curricular offerings with an emphasis on offering three Graduate programs, enhancing results on accreditation and other quality assurance mechanisms, increasing the numbers of research undertakings, augmenting demand-driven and research-based extension activities, and improving internationalization of programs as well as, institutionalizing and internalizing our system, processes, and procedures. With this, CSPC sees the hope and the positive result of all labors extended by all employees and its stakeholders.
