CSPC’s CIRELAA Director Murillo wins in International Bootcamp 2022 for SDGs

The Center for International Relations, External Linkages and Alumni Affairs Director Associate Professor Filmor Murillo, along with fellow SDG advocates, won three of the six awards in the Commission on Higher Education Study Ph – Tarlac Agricultural University International SDGs Bootcamp 2022 (Educators/Professionals Category).

As a bootcamp, it started in January 22 through a prelude while the pitching of SDG projects happened in July 2022. Director Murillo and his fellow participants in the camp proposed and presented a project called “Agri-One” to support the realization of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Their project Agri-One is a centralized electronic/online portal for crops, livestock and poultry, and agricultural products and services; and is geared toward addressing the problems in the agriculture sector and food security in the country. It is also envisioned to connect farmers and breeders directly to consumers, provide a database of professional and authorized service providers in farming and livestock-related; and enlist support and advice from agri-professionals and experts from various SUCs in the country for capability-building and technology transfer.

Given three months to conceptualize and present their projects, Director Murillo and his group won the Best Poster, Best Presentation and the Director’s Award. Participants in this bootcamp are faculty members along with their respective mentors and come from 17 Philippine and seven (7) ASEAN universities and colleges. Director Murillo is a master’s degree holder in Development Communication which advances and promotes United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals as development agenda.
