CSPC holds food processing workshop for Lourdes, Buhi residents

The Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges through its Extension Services Office and in cooperation with the College of Technological and Developmental Education and the College of Arts and Sciences conducted a limited face-to-face skills and training workshop on food processing and no-bake pastries for residents of Brgy. Lourdes, Buhi, Camarines Sur on November 24 to 26, 2021.


Representative faculty from the CTDE and CAS and CSPC extensionists imparted their knowledge and expertise to 45 beneficiaries to develop the latter’s food processing and pastry making skills. According to proponents, the goal of the activity is to provide the beneficiaries with a “skills training program with life-long learning with sustainable community development”.


The training workshop featured discussions on project proposal making facilitated by Ms. Daisylen D. Alano and CEAS Extension Coordinator on the first day; food processing skills training facilitated by Mr. Romeo Sotto, Mr. Mark Ronel Ocbian and Mr. Don Raymond Bermundo with Ms. April Mae Bantog and Edelyn Nales as activity leaders on the second day; and, skills training on making food pastries facilitated by Mr. France Babay, Diana Hugo and Juniser A. Oliva with Mr. Matt Lopez as activity leader.


The participants of the activity are expected to be equipped with knowledge and skills relevant to food processing and pastry making which will be a practical way of creating additional income for the concerned local government unit.


The activity cost Php 64,550.00 which covered tarpaulins, training kits, ingredients for food processing and pastries, meals and snacks; the funding of which only Php 3,500.00 came from CSPC funds and Php 61,650.00 came from external funds.
