The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC), conducted the First Virtual Parents’ General Assembly on October 28, 2021, via Google Meet.
A meeting per class of all CAS programs, namely: Bachelor of Publication Administration, AB English Language Studies, BS Development Communications, Bachelor in Human Services, and BS Mathematics, was held simultaneously.
Class advisers facilitated the meeting with the aim of updating the parents of students with classroom policies, grading system, the necessity of attending synchronous and asynchronous classes, guidance counseling and program for students, approved academic awards for nongraduating students, presentation of the CAS College Student Council and student organizations, and other announcements.
The meeting also included an open forum wherein parents were given the chance to air out their sentiments, concerns, and questions with regard to the conduct of online classes.
Dr. April Z. Luzon, CAS Dean, rendered her opening remarks with emphasis on how to cope with the challenges brought about by the pandemic in the educational system at present. She also reiterated that parents, teachers, and students should be together in resolving problems met along online learning.
She likewise expressed her gratitude to the parents’ responses and their oath of support to the policies and programs of CAS and CSPC.
The parents also wished that virtual meetings such as this undertaking be held regularly to which the advisers and the Dean have responded positively.
