CSPC is first-ever Executives’ Challenge: CAD Edition champ

Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges was declared the first-ever grand champion of the Executives’ Challenge XVI: CAD Edition during the online Engineering Congress 2021 sponsored by the Civil engineering Executive Organization.

The CAD and 3D Modelling competition challenged teams from different colleges and universities in the entire Philippines to produce structural models to improve the disaster risk management system of the country.

The project of BS Civil Engineering students Christian Goronal, Joshua Cedilla, and Jomer Peñones with their coach, Engr. Edna P. Montañez, called “Kulob” bested six other entries from Bulacan State University, Laguna State Polytechnic University, Technological University of the Philippines, and University of the East.

Inspired by Archimedes’ principle of buoyancy, “Kulob” is an amphibious house that can save lives during a typhoon, the winning team explained in their video portfolio.

As the grand champion, they won a cash prize of P15,000.
