Select evaluators from the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office 5 (CHED-ROV) and CSPC Officials convened online to assess the compliance of the Bachelor of Science in Midwifery (BSM) program last October 8, 2020.
The Dean of College of Health Sciences (CHS), Dr. Marilyn N. Rivera, presented the BSM curriculum, faculty, physical facilities, and laboratories. The presentation was followed by a panel inquiry and discussion of the evaluators.
The virtual monitoring also featured a spontaneous remote ocular inspection of CSPC’s newly established Maternal and Child Health Center (Lying-In) through the BSM Program Chair, Prof. Alicia D. Nuyda. During the virtual inspection, the Tech Committee for Midwifery inquired regarding the facilities of the Birthing Center and gave recommendations for improvement.
The undertaking aimed to examine the BSM program’s conformity with the CHED requirements based on CMO no. 33 s. 2007 for the issuance of Certificate of Program Compliance.
The CHED panel of evaluators were composed of Ms. Helen Cabria, Dean of Ago Medical and Educational Center; Dr. Ma. Pamela S. Viñas, Educational Supervisor II; Dr. Ma. Teresa G. De Alban, Chief Education Program Specialist; and Ms. Ma. Concepcion T. Aslor, Technical Committee member for Midwifery Education.
