NSTP conducts Remote Orientation

The National Service Training Program (NSTP) of Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC) conducted its first virtual orientation last August 26, 2020 via Facebook Live at CSPC NSTP’s Official Facebook Page through the leadership of NSTP Director, Professor Helen M. Alde.

The activity began with the welcome message from the College President Dr. Charlito P. Cadag, which centered on promoting welfare through volunteerism as one of the objectives of CSPC’s NSTP. He added that the College takes pride in the development among students of values, patriotism, national pride, and virtues that create the spirit of initiative, volunteerism, cooperation and participation in nation building.

The focal point of the orientation is the discussion of Professor Alde about the three components of NSTP: The Reserve Officers Training Corps or ROTC, the Civic Welfare Training Service CWTS, and the Literacy training Service or LTS.

NSTP or Republic Act 9163 enabled the creation of NSTP for Tertiary level students, amending for the purpose Republic Act No. 7077 and Presidential Decree No. 1706, and other purposes was enacted last year January 2002 to amend the expanded ROTC.

Amid the pandemic, Professor Alde pursued the remote orientation in order to welcome new enrollees in NSTP and establish the great importance of the program to students. NTSP aims to inculcate the spirit of nationalism and promote active involvement of students in the status quo.
