On August 12, 2020, the Commission on Higher Education-Regional Office V (CHED-ROV) revisited Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC) to re-evaluate the Institution relative to its conversion to Polytechnic State University of Bicol (PSUB).

Cardiño (Education Supervisor II), Dr. Ma. Pamela S. Viñas (Education Supervisor II), Dr. Rose Marie A. Arao (Education Supervisor II), Dr. Jean Paulette S. The event centered on the evaluation of documents and interview with the respective deans, directors, and other stakeholders. Simultaneous with the CHED visit is the Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) evaluation in terms of the compliance of CSPC to the minimum requirements for universities per CMO No. 46, s. 2012. The RQAT members focused on program compliance in terms of course offerings of the college.

With the results during the assessment made last year, the College provided definite stepping stones to address the gaps consequent to CSPC’s conversion to PSUB. The CHED visit was capped with the inspiring message given by the College President, Dr. Charlito P. Cadag as he reiterated that despite the obstruction brought about by the CoViD-19 pandemic, CSPC is still committed in conforming to the requirements imposed by CHED to help the institution soon be a University.

The College President have stressed the institution’s 7 commitments to ensure that in no time, Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges will soon use the name and the status of Polytechnic State University of Bicol by virtue of evaluation due to the very promising results found during the reevaluation.

In hindsight, the evaluation of CHED showed strong positive outcomes as a result of CSPC Community’s hard work and collaboration for the fulfillment of the institution’s endeavor to be a full-fledged community in accordance with Republic Act (RA) 11283 signed by President Rodrigo R. Duterte on April 12, 2019.
