ESGP-PA Academic Enhancement Program (AEP)

To respond to the needs of the ESGP-PA grantees, an ongoing Academic Enhancement Program (AEP) is being conducted by the Project Management Office of the Expanded Student’s Grants-In Aid Program for Poverty Alleviation (ESGP-PA), a collaborative effort involving school administration, faculty, and students with the goal of assisting all grantees in developing the critical experiences and skills necessary for academic success. This program is designed to promote academic excellence through enhancement and supportive services for ESGP-PA scholars at all levels of academic performance. This bridging program of ESGP-PA was the result based on the report of grades submitted and through the consultation of faculty members handling ESGP-PA scholars.

The focus of the AEP is to improve the Computer Programing skills BSIT and BSCS grantees, Mathematics for Engineering, Speech and Oral Communication to improve the speaking skills BS Entrepreneurship Management grantees, as well as the BS Tourism Management grantees. Also, to prepare the BTTE students in their upcoming board examination the components of Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) like Basic Drafting, Basic Plumbing, Carpentry, and Masonry, among others are the focus of the enhancement to the scholars in this course. Enhancement program started last February 04, 2018 and is expected to conclude on the 25th of March 2018.

The Expanded Student’s Grants-In-Aid Program for Poverty Alleviation (ESGP-PA) as a program of the government thru the DSWD and Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges as one of its partners, aims to empower its grantees to be responsive by informing and guiding them to understand from a broader prospective how effective leadership can help impact to school, and communities through a Leadership Conference that will include leadership training, personal transformation workshop and Team Building that will push forward the boundaries of leadership by nurturing the actions of Believe, Excel, Serve and Transform as a system approach for young leaders. This leadership seminar aims to empower the grantees to make a difference in their respective institutions and communities by encouraging their fellow youth for a good cause. To transform grantees and mold them to become more active and effective in addressing local and national issues and to prepare them to be agents of change of their family and society.

The event held its opening ceremony last February 27, 2018, at the CSPC auditorium. The ESGP-PA Focal, Francis E. Martillano discussed the theme “ESGP-PA Scholars as Catalysts of Social Change”. On this event, Dr. Dulce F. Atian, the College President, and Dr. Teresita B. Salazar the Vice President for Academic Affairs gave their message to the ESGP-PA grantees. Team Building activities were conducted on the afternoon of the same date. On the second day, Mr. Michael Roland F. Hernandez, Ph.D. (Cand.) and Federico Jose Lagdameo, Ph.D. (Cand) both from Ateneo De Naga University discussed on “Living One’s Life as a Masterpiece: Freedom, Love and Responsibility in the End Times” and “The Role and Importance of Ethical Leadership in the 21st Century”, respectively.
