The Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges Extension Services provides to let the community feel the presence of CSPC through the conduct of relevant and responsive extension and community outreach programs and activities.

  • Promote viable linkages and transfer of technology in different field of competences.

Extension services that will assist in the sustainable development of the community particularly its target clientele thus empower them to improve their quality of life.

MISSION

To assist and enable the community in the management of its resources through the systematic prioritization, planning, coordination and implementation of priority and relevant community extension services utilizing the resources of the different departments of the College.

Policy Statement

As a General Policy, the extension services being of the four major and mandated functions of the college shall perform an extension services in accordance with the policies and guidelines as promulgated in this manual.

  • Strategies

In order to ensure effective implementation of the programs and projects in consonance with its objectives, the CSPC Extension Services Office has devised the following strategies for implementation.

  • Coordinate with the different departments who will directly spearhead the planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating the program of the college in coordination with the Extension Office.
  • Establish a network for planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluations of projects to develop an efficient system of extension program management.
  • Assist the identified community or barangay to be served through technical, vocational, educational, entrepreneurial, health and environmental services as well as other needs identified.
  • Promote a systematic program of human and material resource development and an adequate pool of highly motivated manpower, capable of meeting needs of Extension Services.
  • Utilize research-based technologies for sustainable development.
  • Design Skills Training programs responsive to the needs of the community.
  • Establish and build-up linkages its government and non-government agencies, local and international professional organizations et.
  • Encourage the involvement of alumni in the different programs and activities of the college.
  • Render technical consultancy services.
  • Promote a community-based extension program.
  • Monitor and valuate extension program implemented.
  • Provide continuing program for academic staff involved in the extension activities trainings and seminars.
  • Create group of extensionist or pool of experts.

FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Being one of the four folds functions of the college of the Extension Services office has to perform the following functions:

  • Develop and implement institutional programs and projects of the college.
  • Coordinate with the academic department in the consolidation of implemented for the year.
  • Submit reports of the result vased monitoring and evaluation conducted.
  • Develop and recommend policies and strategies to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of implementation of programs and projects by academic departments based on monitoring and evaluations result.
  • Establish linkages and collaborate with other unit, government agencies as well as private institutions to enhance the implementation of both the institutional and departmental programs and projects of the college.
  • Submit periodic reports on the impact of extention work on the quality of life in the service area.
  • Perform other function that maybe assigned from time to time.

Director for Extension Services

  • Search and identify external funding sources, facilitate grant development, budget negotiation, implementation, administrations, and compliance monitoring for the College;
  • Assume a lead role in initiating and evaluating research institutes/center and extension linkages and collaboration for MOA and MOU’s formulations;
  • Serve as the coordinating point for College-wide planning activities and work with the offices of the President, the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) and the Vice President for Administration (VPA) and Planning Officer on annual and long-range planning efforts.
  • Collect, analyze and disseminate accurate and timely information on every aspects of the College in support of institutional decision making, planning and reporting for the continuous improvement of services;
  • Develop an recommend policies and strategies to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of implementation programs and projects by academic departments based on monitoring and evaluation results;
  • Facilitate the implementation of policies and procedures specially in the areas of contracting, inventions, copyrights, software and publications and dissemination of research outputs and extension programs.
  • Spearhead the planning of programs for Extension Activities which agreed towards the growth and development of the community it will serve.
  • Plans, promotes, and carries out working relations and linkages with appropriate agencies and non-government organizations
  • Directly supervise the director of Extension Service.
  • Act as chairperson of the Technical Review committee with the College Research and Extension assisting the VPRE.
  • Creates Extension Evaluation Committee who will do the evaluation of extension activities conducted.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the College President and the Board of Trustees.

COORDINATE EFFORTS

  • Coordinate Research Output form the Research Office as bases of formulating institutional extension programs.
  • Coordinate the approved extension program as basis of formulating a departmental extension program.
  • Coordinate the consolidated actions pan of every department.
  • Coordinate advocacy plans for the development of the extension workers.
  • Coordinates all the reports needed from every department.
  • Status report, accomplishments reports, Monitoring and evaluation reports, and narrative reports
  • Coordinate extension activities and other advocacies for the development of the faculty extensionists.
  • Coordinate to every academic department any changes that results from a seminar attended by the extension office staff.
  • Coordinate all important issues and concerns that may promote smooth operations of the extension services conducted by every academic department.
