CSPC BOT names Dr. Charlito Cadag as 5th College Prexy

Following a search, Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges’ Board of Trustees has named Dr. Charlito P. Cadag as the college’s fifth president. In accordance with Section 6 of Republic Act No. 8292, otherwise known as the “Higher Education Modernization Act of 1997,” including Sections 21, 25, and 27 of its Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations, and by virtue of Resolution No. 40, Series of 2019, passed on July 10, 2019 by the Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC) Board of Trustees, Dr. Charlito P. Cadag who is currently the Vice-President for Academic Affairs of the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture was appointed as President of CSPC for a term of four years commencing on July 10, 2019 and expiring on July 9, 2023.

Dr. Cadag, who is fondly called by his family, friends, and colleagues as “Choy,“ was born on March 20, 1962, in Jovellar, Albay. He is the husband of Mrs. Ma. Victoria Pena Oquendo-Cadag, the current Supply Management Officer of Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) and the father of Charles Kevin, Charles Ralph, Charles Kenn, and Charles Byron. Besides graduating Cum Laude in Agriculture, with Agronomy as his major, in 1984 in Camarines Sur State Agricultural College (CSSAC), now CBSUA, he was also awarded the Academic Excellence Award and Best in Academic Performance in Crop Science recognitions.

Learning to him is never-ending and must be continued with determination and excellence, that’s why he took Master in Agricultural Extension in 1987 in University of the Philippines – Los Baños and Master of Science in Agronomy minor in Development Education in 1992 in CSSAC. He then pursued further studies by pursuing Doctorate of Philosophy in Development Education in 2014 in CBSUA.

Before being appointed as the new College president of CSPC, he works in CBSUA as an Associate Professor V and Professor III; the dean and faculty of the Graduate School; a faculty in the College of Development Education; and an affiliate faculty in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

Yet, before his current positions in CBSUA, he worked as the Assistant Director of the institution’s Planning and Development Unit – Management Information Service; Regional Coordinator of the Management Information Services for Region V under the Bicol Consortium for Agricultural Resources Research and Development, or the BCARRD; Director of the Division of Extension Services; Overall Team Leader of the University Social Marketing; and Division Director of the University’s Office of Student Affairs and Services.

A Licensed Professional Teacher; Student Services Administrator; Peer Reviewer of Research Output for Publication; Research Evaluator; Script and Speech Writer; Technical and Language Editor of Doctorate Dissertations, Master’s Theses, and Instructional Materials; Resource Speaker in local, national, and international undertakings; AACCUP Senior Accreditor (OBE-trained for Advanced Level Programs); and ISA Assessor – these are only few of his major qualifications and competence.

Indeed, his proven dedication to optimizing success and organizational performance, along with his excellent, analytical, and communication skills, will be truly valuable in CSPC’s continuous quest in providing excellent and quality education and services to its students, clients, and stakeholders.
