Evaluators invade CSPC for 4-Day Institutional Accreditation

Fired up by its vision of being the lead Polytechnic institution in the Bicol Region providing excellent education and quality services responsive to local, national and global developments, Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges welcomed the 13 accreditors who came from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc., and several higher education institutions (HEIs) in the Philippines for a four-day Institutional Accreditation.

Spearheaded by Dr. Manuel T. Corpus, the Founding President and Executive Director of the AACCUP, the team of accreditors evaluated CSPC’s governance and management (Area I), teaching, learning, and evaluation (Area II), faculty and staff (Area III), research (Area IV), extension, consultancy, and linkages (Area V), support to students (Area VI), library (Area VII), infrastructure and other learning resources (Area VIII), and quality assurance culture (Area IX).

Dr. Corpus, who is assigned as the consultant and one of the lead accreditors for Area I, was accompanied by Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari of Tarlac State University (Area I Team Leader and Lead Accreditor), Dr. Anthony M. Penaso of Caraga State University (Area I Co-team Leader and Lead Accreditor), Dr. Gilbert R. Arce of University of Northern Philippines (Area I Co-team Leader and Lead Accreditor), and Dir. Aurora E. Casuga of Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (Area I Lead Accreditor).

Others evaluators were Dr. Marcela T. Caluscosin of DMMMSU (Area II Lead Accreditor), Dr. Divinagracia M. De Guzman of AACCUP/ Nueva Vizcaya State University (Area III Lead Accreditor), Dr. Manuel K. Palomar of Visayas State University (Area IV Lead Accreditor), Dr. Elsie M. Pacho of DMMMSU (Area V Lead Accreditor), Prof. Marina Quesada of AACCUP/DMMMSU (Area VI Lead Accreditor), Dr. Nancy F. Galban of DMMMSU (Area VII Lead Accreditor), Dr. Alfredo G. Mendoza of Bulacan State University (Area VIII Lead Accreditor), and Dr. Maria Glenda O. De Lara of AACCUP (Area IX Lead Accreditor). Also part of the delegation was Mr. Dominic T. Martinez of AACCUP who served as the IA management staff.

Founded in 1987, AACCUP is the youngest of the four accrediting agencies in the country until late 2003. As stipulated in its charter, one of its functions is “to develop a mechanism of, and conduct the evaluation of programs and institutions.” Programs that are awarded accreditation status are recognized for their quality standards.
